Occasionially, we will have a guitar or two for sale. These are usually trade-ups, prototypes, or "spec" guitars built just for fun.

Unless noted otherwise, previously owned instruments purchased directly from McAlister Guitars carry the same limited lifetime warranty as a new instrument.

2008 McAlister Vintage Series 000-28 Cutaway
- A rare opportunity to purchase immediately this very nice interpretation of a prewar Martin 12 fret 000-28 with custom features. The body is deeper than standard and the neck and slothead are both bound with ivoroid to match the body. Old growth, quartersawn Brazilian rosewood with master grade Adirondack spruce top. Herringbone purfling and abalone rosette with "long pattern" diamond & square inlays on the fretboard. Pyramid bridge, ivory nut and saddle with polished bone pins. The tone of this guitar is amazing! It is very very responsive and articulate. $7500 with Ameritage hard shell case and limited lifetime warranty. Please email with questions and/or for photos.

SOLD - 2010 Vintage Series 000 12-fret - This is a rare opportunity to purchase a new 12 fret 000 that is scheduled for completion the first week in February. It is built with antique Honduran mahogany back and sides and a master grade Adirondack spruce top. It features 28 style appointments, ivoroid binding, herringbone purfling, traditional slot head, and pyramid bridge. Nut width is 1-13/16" with 2-5/16" string spacing at the bridge. Inlays include the traditional 28-style diamond and square pattern. Nut and saddle are both ivory.

This is a very special pre-war style guitar built with exceptional woods. Please inquire for more information. Pics will be added when guitar is completed. $6500

SOLD - 2005 McAlister Vintage Series J-45 Replica - This is a previously owned J-45 replica that was used by a respected New Orleans guitarist who recorded and toured with this guitar. It shows signs of wear and use, but in my opinion, this adds to the character and cherished aesthetic of a well loved guitar. It is made with antique Honduran mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack spruce top and has a vintage early 40's style Gibson sunburst. It deviates from the original Gibson specs with an ebony fretboard and bridge. It also has a long 25.4" Martin scale in lieu of the traditional Gibson 24.625" scale. 1 3/4" nut and 2 5/16" string spacing at the bridge. The tuners are vintage open back Waverly's with ivoroid buttons that have been aged. This guitar works very well for many styles, but would be an outstanding flatpicker due to the choice of tone woods, vintage aesthetic and longer scale. It is equipped with a stereo B-band pick-up system. Extended warranty is limited to workmanship, structural integrity and hardware, but does not include existing cosmetic 'patina'. Please request photos and further information. $3800

SOLD - 2008 McAlister Custom Signature Series D-42 - This is a very special recently completed custom Dreadnought built with master/exhibition grade Brazilian rosewood (beautiful spider-webbing!) and a master+ grade Adirondack top. It is a one-off Dreadnought model of my signature series. This guitar is built with traditional pre-war Martin 42 style appointments and inlays, and features a custom ‘Roy McAlister’ signature at the 12th fret in mother-of-pearl. Bridge and fretboard are Brazilian rosewood. It is also equipped with a K&K pickup system. This is an outstanding one-of-a-kind Dreadnought that is available for immediate delivery. Comes in a custom leather Cedar Creek case. Photos upon request. $10,500

This guitar was a custom order which was cancelled due to severe financial hardship. It has a current retail value of $7200. Priced now at $6500.
